Building Electrician

You lay cable trays and conduit, pull cable, fit distribution boards, sockets, switches and luminaires and terminate to the circuit diagram. You test insulation resistance, loop impedance and residual current devices with a meter, record the readings in the test protocol and hand the circuit over to the site supervisor. Fault finding on existing installations is part of the work. The day runs 07:00-16:00 from Monday to Thursday and 07:00-13:00 on Friday.

Trade qualification as an electrician or electronics technician

At least three years on building installations up to 400 volts

Able to read a circuit diagram and a cable list

Confident with an installation tester and its protocol

Driving licence category B for the site vehicle

German at B1 level for site meetings and safety rules

Net salary from 2500 up to 2750 EUR per month

Permanent contract under the electrical trade collective agreement

Paid travel time between the yard and the site

Company van with tools, kept at home after the trial period

Thirty days of annual leave and a Christmas payment

Paid courses for the qualified electrician certificate

Tools, work clothing, helmet and safety shoes provided

An electrician who leads a circuit through commissioning without rework is put forward for the qualified electrician certificate and later for the site foreman role on smaller jobs.

Fit out sites inside finished buildings, with scaffold towers, a site power supply and a locked store for tools. Helmet, insulated gloves, safety glasses and safety shoes are mandatory and issued.
